JEE Main 2026: Identity Proof Mandatory for Applicants Without Aadhaar or DigiLocker Verification

The JEE Main 2026 registration process has officially begun on the National Testing Agency (NTA) portal. Candidates aspiring for admission to top engineering institutes like IITs, NITs, and IIITs can now complete their online application by providing personal details, uploading required documents, and paying the exam fee through online modes.

During the JEE Main 2026 registration, applicants must fill in personal information such as name, address, mobile number, and email ID to create a login account. Once registered, the system will generate an application number, which will be required for all future correspondence and login activities.

Candidates must upload their latest passport-size color photograph, signature, educational certificates, and a valid identity proof in the prescribed formats. The photograph should be between 10 KB to 200 KB in JPG/JPEG format, while the signature file must be between 10 KB to 100 KB. Class 10 marksheets or certificates, along with category or disability certificates (if applicable), should be uploaded in PDF format ranging from 50 KB to 300 KB.

A key update this year is that candidates who do not have Aadhaar or DigiLocker-based identity verification must upload a scanned copy of an official identity proof — such as a PAN card, passport, voter ID, or driving license — to complete their registration.

The JEE Main 2026 application fee can be paid via net banking, debit/credit card, or UPI. After successful payment, candidates should download and save the confirmation page for future reference. It is important to ensure all uploaded documents are clear and authentic, as incomplete or incorrect applications may be rejected.

The NTA JEE Main 2026 examination will serve as a gateway for engineering aspirants seeking admission to India’s premier institutions. Candidates are advised to fill out their forms carefully and verify all details before final submission.
