Yamaha R7 Engine and Performance
Powering the new R7 is the proven 698cc parallel-twin engine, delivering 73.4 hp and 68 Nm torque.
It comes paired with a 6-speed gearbox and an up-down quickshifter, ensuring a smooth and race-inspired riding experience.
The engine’s linear power delivery and high-revving capability make it one of the most balanced performance bikes in its class.
Yamaha R7 Features
The biggest update is the inclusion of the 6-axis IMU (Inertial Measurement Unit) — a feature previously seen in the flagship YZF-R1.
It manages multiple rider aids such as:
- Traction Control
- Slide Control
- Wheelie Control
- Brake Control
- Engine Brake Management
- Launch Control
The 5-inch full-color TFT display integrates the new Yamaha Ride Control (YRC) system, offering three preset modes (Sport, Street, Rain) and additional custom and track modes for personalized riding.
Yamaha R7 Mileage (Expected)
According to Yamaha’s internal tests, the new R7 delivers an estimated mileage of 22–25 km/l, depending on riding conditions and mode selection. The efficiency is expected to improve with the revised ECU and IMU calibration.
Yamaha R7 Handling and Chassis Improvements
Yamaha has completely reworked the R7’s chassis setup.
The new steel tubular frame, asymmetrical swingarm, and lightweight suspension geometry improve handling, stability, and rider comfort — especially during high-speed cornering.
The upright riding posture also enhances long-distance comfort, making it suitable for both track and touring riders.
